Seven days of stitching five hours a day and I've made my contribution to the Art Society's centrepiece fundraiser. Fifteen of those hours it took to create the base fabric. Speed was essential, so reverted back to machine work. But as the week progressed I wondered if I was in fact being protective of my hand stitching. Not prepared to expose it to the pressure I was feeling...and still am feeling! Hope someone falls in love with this 20" high red and glittery spruce!
Then some tree triangles from a while back caught my eye...
And they calmed me down again!
If someone doesn't fall in love with it, there's something wrong in this world! My magpie tendancies are all over it and I'm not even seeing it 'for real'!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure someone will fall in love with your tree. I thinks it's beautiful - even if it is by machine.
ReplyDeleteDITTO :)
ReplyDeleteLove the top triangley doodads tassels
Lovely trees. Tis the season of rushing and stress. I'm sure it will bring joy to many.
ReplyDeleteInteresting remark, about protecting the hand stitching - know what you mean... - and this tree will make someone happy anyways...
ReplyDeletebeautiful tree and love the tassels. the hand stitched triangles are wonderful. hand stitching ought to be used for therapy in the medical field.
ReplyDeleteI fell in love with the tree..and then I saw the triangles...oooohhh
ReplyDeleteFabulous. That's a lot of stitching!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, tall, stately spruce...I love your piece and am sure it will be well appreciated!
ReplyDeleteYour stitched tree triangles are really appealing. Makes me want to sit and stitch, but alas I have to head off to work soon.

It's a wonderful piece, even if it isn't a piece of your heart. Of course, you know that I love all your work, but lady, that's an awful lot of stitching and cutting!!! Hand work is wonderful, but then so is machine. My grandmother was a seamstress and also an exquisite hand embroiderer. I value my memories of all of her work.
ReplyDeleteSorry, two wonderfuls in the same comment is a bit much, but you know what I mean!!! I guess I should learn to read my comments before I hit the send button. LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat an inventive star - love it - and all those fabrics will add sparkle to some lucky person's table! And, the texture of your tree triangles draws me right in - beautiful. For every stitch there is a season, perhaps?
ReplyDeleteOh my, so much work -- but it was worth it. Its beautiful!
