Your tree is coming along nicely! Having the tree trunk morph into the pieces of cloth is brilliant! The dark/mottled one is my favourite (you're using it as a base?). I wanted to tell you that I found the buttons distracting, but then I realized they were flower head pins. LOL on me!!
Yes, the pinheads are distracting! One thing that worries me about this piece is the huge change from above ground to below ground. I will have to be very conscious of not making them equal in size!

All the images you've posted here are full of wonder and beauty....thanks for a delightful start to the day!
ReplyDeleteI find that heavy earth sack bottom part terr(a)ific - + how the two halves of the cloth clash + harmonize...
ReplyDeletethe tree is being pushed up from the very centre of the earth...k.
ReplyDeleteThe tree cloth is so fantastic. I remember as a child being totally absorbed by illustrations of underground life. Gilly
ReplyDeleteI'm liking this - a lot! Makes me think of the cross-sections of the earth we studied in school...just needs a fire-y center.
ReplyDeleteyup, there's a whole secret world going on under that tree...this story is growing ;>]
ReplyDeleteI love what you're developing, here, and the balance of earth and sky. When I first saw it, I thought the heads of the pins were tiny magic globes.
