Men would choose to use this background cloth as a car polishing rag.
That's where I found it, in the automotive section of a hardware store....
But I chose to dye it and cover it with women...
Of all shapes and sizes........
Don't know why my women seem to be grey haired or red heads so far.
What a joyful piece!
ReplyDeleteAnd i agree about those "rags"---they take natural and synthetic dyes beautifully---i have quite a stash of them and use them regularly :)
Your stitching complements the soft weave of these as well--and nothing beats that colour combo
wonderful texture to the fabric and perfect for your lovely women. nice thread color choices.
ReplyDeleteMaybe that's the colour yarn that just jumps into your hand... Very nice no matter what hair colour they have. Seems like a fun project.
ReplyDeleteOh Penny! I love this! The second one down from the top is me! Well, it's my inner me! This is such a joyful whimsical project. I want to see more!

Love it. I cover my grey hair with henna (red) so I feel a kind of affinity with these wild women. I like the subversive feel of this cloth too.
ReplyDeleteso good you saved it from carpolishing and made art out of it.
