Caught in the act at dusk! We play mind games with each other. Sometimes we think that he won't come tonight...but we're wrong and in the morning we find the feeder empty on the grass. Sometimes he gets nothing 'cos we remember to take the feeder in for the night.
I really want to say "but raccoons have to eat too" but they really can make a mess of one's garbage here in the big city.
ReplyDeleteI guess I never knew that coons at seeds!! Something learned today!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful picture!!! They look so cute, but they can be mean too! Especially when you're camping and you come upon them in the middle of the night by the restrooms digging through the garbage. You better walk away and "hold it" until the dang thing is finished... or else!
ReplyDelete;~) Debi
just like our city brushtailed possums - raiders of the night food, and don't particularly care what food it is...pretty face tho...k.
ReplyDeleteLooks like he's done a few midnight raids!
ReplyDeleteI love raccoons, I used to get a family here nibbling my birdseed. These days my bandits are much bigger... and eat the seed AND the feeder. So I try to figure out when its safe to put the feed out in the fall by guessing when the bears have gone into dens. Every year I seem to miscalculate and at least one feeder gets mangled. But I like the bears and its quite amusing to see a 500 pound bear devouring tiny thistle seed...
ReplyDeleteI can see we've all experienced bandits!
ReplyDeleteyou sure did catch a cute picture.
ReplyDeleteWhat perfect timing to catch the thief - great photo!
ReplyDeletei love him....................
