Dancing for his Breakfast

The pheasant comes every morning
and ruffles his feathers

Digs for seeds
on snowy ground covered in bits and pieces blown from trees
in the windy days we are having

He struts about

and when he's had his fill
he saunters off back to the woods.

Meanwhile a mourning dove watches
from a tree's protective arbour.

  1. What a cool bird. I don't think I have seen one in the wild. Beautiful.

  3. Looks like the pheasant is both having his breakfast and getting his morning exercise!
