Two Little Treats

Do you see him?
His mother had just crowd the road
and as we crept forward hoping to catch another
glimpse of her
this little head popped up!
Of course it popped right back down again
when he spied us.
But we decided to stay put and wait.

Eventually he grew brave enough
to make another attempt.
So tiny
so healthy looking.

Then all of a sudden there were two!
A precious moment.

My second treat of the day...
...that morning I had to stop
for two tiny spotted fawns to cross
another road and join their mother.

  1. BAbies are everywhere here too.... no bears mind you.... but fawns everywhere! A mother often leaves her twins in the front yard while she forages.... we feel like babysitters. lol Hugs! deb

  3. Isn't is incredible to encounter 'wild things' on your walk. No bears in our neighborhood yet this summer - but I'm sure they are up in the woods. I did see the most beautiful cardinal on a fence this morning and cherished his bright red against all the green.

  5. Bears on a walk. Magical. We don't have bears in Scotland. They look so sweet together but what are they like when they are adults?

  7. Wow - how amazing is that!!! We're hoping to see some wildlife on our trip in the fall, but in the meantime I was lucky enough to finally get to see the resident fox that lives just behind our building. Of course I didn't have the camera handy!

  8. Such a wonderful sighting!
I have seen a number of bears this year, but no youngsters. I did just have triplet fawns a couple minutes ago, so cute.
