Waiting and Sketching

Never leave home without a sketchbook....

Never sit in a waiting room without pen and sketchbook!
I had seen these shapes in bark on a tree.
As I doodled it occured....

...that a series on tree bark
could become shields
because the bark protects a sensitive core...

...but they wouldn't have to be shield shaped.

Then I thought of frozen puddles...

...and how I might stitch them.

Then I remembered my circles piece
and that I should do another one.
Finally my wait was over
having accomplished a lot!

  1. My goodness, you got a lot done while you were waiting - and I bet you didn't notice the time pass, either!

  5. The series that could go on tree bark is stunning...certainly remind me of shields. I will have to practice making marks on paper.

  7. Oh my gosh! These are wonderful - just the way they are. But of course I'll be waiting ever so impatiently to see some of them in stitch too.
