Still Clinging on

Apples still cling to leafless apple trees

Grasses still stand tall beneath skeleton trees
no sun to be seen
I'm leaning against strong winds
and tiptoeing through iced puddles
Brrrrr

    1. The sun, when it comes out, is cooler nowadays.

  2. I'm snuggled here with a hot cup of tea thinking that I'll walk later in the day (much later when the sun is high and things warm up a bit).

    1. Know what you mean...it is taking the sun longer to warm up the place isn't it!

  3. I noticed some crab apples clinging tight onto bare branches today. They're very red this year!

  4. We still have amber leaves flying off the trees, but it won't be long before they've all fallen..

  5. crunch...crunch...of our footsteps through first frosts, first freezes.
Our first frost was last night. I love the silvery grasses! And if your woofers
are anything like mine, Penny, they far prefer the cold weather. Both dawgs today
    went wild with glee.
Is there anything much better than that silliness???

  6. I love the picture with a few apples clinging to the tree. I live in apple country in Ontario and often see and take pictures of the same with the hopes of making a wall hanging of such.Nature has so much to offer and so inspires quilting. Thanks for sharing such beautiful scenery pictures.
