On This Last Day of May

Lupins rule here in the Maritimes

The irises are magnificent as always

Swaying in early summer breezes

Fresh fir cones are forming
and soon the breeze will blow their pollen
coating everything in yellow.

Last year's seed pods
still dance above the new ones forming.

  4. We had such torrential rains here the other evening - 4 + hours of thunderstorms - that some of my lupine are lying flat on the ground :(

  5. Bountiful already!
We had massive fir cone dust this season...I sort of like their thin blankets on everything. But those irises?! None like this 'round my place ~ ooooh, you're lucky to have those beauts ;>]]

    1. This year seems to be a good one for irises. I know what you mean about the yellow dust....it kind of reminds you that nature will prevail.

    1. I'm thinking the flowing lines of the iris could create a gorgeous abstract.
