Connectivity Woes

No internet connection for days
Our lives changed for three whole days
Didn't quite come to a halt
but nearly!
Glad to be back

Shoreline rust
But just look at those blues

Quarry rust alongside soft grey blues

and a lovely sandy sediment

I keep forgetting rust eats into things

Even weavings rust

And what kind of bird would want to bring up it's young
Hidden beneath noisy and rusty quarry equipment?

The new quarry equipment is creamy white
How long till the rust appears?

But let's end up with some lovely salt air rust!

Have a great day

Coffee Break with a Polyphemus Moth!

We sipped coffee on the front porch
and noticed we had company

I find those hairy moth bodies fascinating
He slowly pulled himself out of the shadows...

...and warmed his magnificent wings in the sun
What a treat
Just look at those eyes

Rust appears everywhere
even in my art class homework!

Scratching Anew

Starting anew in July
In this country that means Canada Day
Then on Monday I just started stitching
and it ended up as an ode to dandelions!
Tuesday was a Loose Threads meeting

I still enjoy those days
where nothing strikes me
and just a row of stitching will do.
Thursday still means art class

It rained just a bit on Saturday
My raindrops look
more like hieroglyphs
than water.
Sunday the last day of Wimbledon.
I stitched one white ball in memory
of days gone by when we green ones didn't exist!

Starting anew is strange
not much cloth to hold onto
as I scratch new days.

La Lune

Magnificent night light.

Woops
Just remembered
it's our wedding anniversary today
43 years!

Laden Skies

Early morning
Heavy darkened clouds
Scudding across the basin

Beyond the North Mountain
Over the Bay of Fundy
The skies are light and bright

Luckily the skies soon lightened
allowing the sun to shine down on my favourite piece of driftwood

I imagine it holds many secrets
And tales
Of yesteryear

Scratched

The RP's and I turned the corner
and there sat a snowshoe hare
right in the middle of the road

 He just wouldn't move
Not concerned about the car at all
So out came the camera
I crept forward to drive past on the left
Still he sat there
Until finally he turned and
Ran up the road
With me driving slowly behind
Until he finally decided to pop into the woods

Then the next morning a loon watched
from the safety of the basin
as the RP's and I walked the dike.
Oh, and Thursday's art class
dealt with reflections

And on Friday
Mark and Donna
took possession of their first home
So exciting for them

Six months of my life in a tangled pile

or a long, long road

or perhaps a curled scroll.
Six months is long enough
so I've started a new scroll
for July 1st.

Nooks and Crannies in the Gardens

From afar they look deep in conversation

and getting closer you see that they are!
The work of Dawn McNutt

An Acadian house in the style of about 300 years ago

and then some surprising art

made with burs!
I know those things
they cling to everything
especially rusty pups

Rusty birds
my favourite

but on the other hand
there is nothing like a tree.
