We sipped coffee on the front porch
and noticed we had company
I find those hairy moth bodies fascinating
He slowly pulled himself out of the shadows...
...and warmed his magnificent wings in the sun
What a treat
Just look at those eyes
Rust appears everywhere
even in my art class homework!
Lucky you!! I was JUST on the lookout this morning for polyphemus as it is "their time"... and because its a little lonlier around here without all the luna moths, but didn't find one! Alas, I did here!
ReplyDeleteHe is a magnificent creature - and he goes very well with your homework!
ReplyDeleteWow!! I've never seen one of these moths...those 'eyes'! Amazing :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Lucky you to be entertained while relaxing with your cup. Most people would never even look at a moth except for a passing glance. Don't you wonder what the story is on the moth having those wonderful eyes?

Gorgeous! Weren't you fortunate! We seem to have a lot of new and interesting bugs of all sorts about this year . Haven't seen a P moth for years though. Enjoy while you can!
ReplyDeleteHow lucky to see this moth and it stayed put for a photo shoot :)
ReplyDeleteNever saw a real one... just pictures.
Thanks for sharing

((((hugs))))

The moth is beautiful, Nature knows how to make things: look at those lines and curves, at those colours!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a real one either - what a treat you had to be able to watch this fellow.
