For years and years Judy and have visited each other
stitching
sharing
supporting
dreaming
discussing
critiquing
sometimes friends joined us too
This time Miranda Bouchard joined us.
We are happy Miranda is curating our next show
I believe we are all finding this intergenerational collaboration very rewarding.

We viewed pieces together
sharing thoughts and insights
It is a special friendship
when you feel comfortable
giving honest critique and receiving it.
Thank you for that gift

Sometimes we turned things around
Sometimes we turned things upside down
Sometimes we got the scissors out and took things apart

Judy and I are very similar but oh so different too.
For this show...
Judy aims at inspiring people to gaze skyward
at it's enormity
but also to find that immensity in ourselves too.
My goal is to inspire us to observe the places we live in
to recognize how we are in nature
and how nature can fill the immensity that is us.

We reach out
We touch
We are textile artists after all
Touch is everything
Penny, it was wonderful to have you and Miranda visit last month. Our show together is going to be so beautiful, I think. You have written about our time together very well in this post. Thank you sweetheart xoxo
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful work. Your close friendship with one another inspires me to reach out from my personal hermitage and find kindred souls in my own backyard.
ReplyDeleteAs you say - touch is all. Textiles give so many textural possibilities...
ReplyDeletesuch beauties!
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be a great show. Friendship is amazing. xx
ReplyDeleteOh sorry we missed you on this visit....
ReplyDeleteSuch fun to see your work alongside hers - they really compliment each other. I must say that I spend a lot of time wishing I could 'see' interesting works of art with my fingers ....the sense of touch is such a vital part of the enjoyment.
ReplyDeleteYou are both such inspiring artists. It is exciting to see that you are working towards another show together. Thanks for the glimpses of your new & in-process work....you fill us with anticipation!
