Living in a Country of Lakes

Wherever I have lived in Canada
there have been lakes
reflecting bold and beautiful skies

Tannin colours the waters here in Nova Scotia
drifts of pine needles line up along waters edge
and huge rocks sunbathe in family groupings.

Islands crammed with trees inhabit lakes

and leaves sink beneath the waters looking like copper pennies in a city fountain.

  1. Penny, your photographs carry me far beyond home, and make me yearn for open eyes and steady hands to capture only a small reflection of what you see and share. Thank you!

  4. I love seeing our country though your eyes - your photography and words together make me stop and consider my surroundings and remind me to be more aware.
