I've been working beyond the moon.....
Bringing stars into the vast deep blue universe...
While beneath the moon and above the trees, snow and rain fall.
And there are ghosts of trees at the back of this piece too. Love messy backs!
The skies are done.
Now on to Terra firma beneath the trees.
I hope the story there unfolds with the same energy and clarity.

Red
Remember the bright red cardinal?
This is the female's more subtle colouring.
And talking of red....
We only have the smaller red squirels in these parts...
Well, they are usually smaller.
This little one is getting fat stealing from the bird feeders!

Walking with the Eagle
As we walked up the quarry road yesterday
a bald eagle circled above us
watching our every move....
Perhaps he was estimating the weight of my rusty feet warmers!
Perhaps he spied smaller critters the rusty pups were disturbing
or even the coyote who walked in front of us further down the road.
A walk I will remember for a long time....
Encounters with the eagle are
awe inspiring moments for me.

Way too beautiful to eat!
A walk I will remember for a long time....
Encounters with the eagle are
awe inspiring moments for me.

Of Trees and Triangles
Some trees prefer to grow above the moon
where the cosmic winds swirl around them
and through them.
Some faces could be triangles, but upside down,
with palm trees growing above.
Twiggy collections are dotted around my home.
Mostly little driftwood pieces from the beach.
For years I've wanted to include them in my work;
but my fabrics were too bright.
Now that I have soft natural-dyed cottons and linens
perhaps I have a home for them.

Stitching the Outside Inside
A tree ghost or a ghost of a tree has appeared and..
(with apologies to David Gutterson)..
there is "|Snow Falling on Cedars".
Actually in my case it is falling on Spruce.
In winter, as the wind blows
and the snow settles outside,...

Surrounded by Trees
Before Christmas Jude wrote and videoed about her stitched Christmas pieces.
I thought I might be able to make some in time for gifts as well....silly me!
It's January and I've barely got started.
When trees are involved, I can never resist.
You might notice a hint of a few dangling roots.....
Simply had to cut into a brand new scarf to include some spirals....
