Able to stitch on the weekend,
I returned to my starry piece
for the finishing touches.
A third and final backing has been added
and I'm quilting the layers together.
Love those undulations.
Some stitches will be more raggedy...
less like a quilting stitch.
Even back in the beginning of my stitching life...
I couldn't resist filling in every speck of space with stitch.
It's the texture.
Those little dimples sinking into cloth.
Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteglad to hear you're feeling better. nice snail.
ReplyDeleteLove the 'dimples' - I'm a 'texture' freak so anytime fabric is 'bumpy' I like it. Love the snail.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling better. The texture is marvellous.
ReplyDeleteIt's the variety of texture available that makes embroidery so fascinating.
ReplyDeleteThe dimpled texture is beautiful...and the colors. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeletei too enjoy the feel of dimples.....i have even tried to figure out what way to make the dimples go, by stitching different directions...then i get sidetracked by another small space and totally forget I was trying to tame the dimples. or organize them.
ReplyDeleteah, the ripple of the stitch.

that snail is a Queen among snails, certainly the best image i've seen all morning.
ReplyDeleteStitching sometimes goes at a snail's pace!
ReplyDeleteIt is so good to see you back! I am enjoying all of your postings above, as well. Lucky duck, you have your beach.

I especially like your "raggedy" stitches--adds so much texture to the design. Glad to hear you're feeling better.
