Painted page
marked with stitch lines
just wondering what it would look like.
The end result brings to mind the marshland down by the dykes.
Funny how unintentionally my surroundings influence just about everything.
Down at the stream yesterday
it looked like the ice was melting
but it was so cold
perhaps it was freezing over again!
maybe it started to melt then thought about it and decided to freeze instead. interesting, it looks like scrunched cellophane
ReplyDeleteWouldn't your beautiful red dahlias cheer up my icy world!
DeleteWonderful spiky crystals - no wonder you find your surroundings echoed in your work!
ReplyDeleteThough I've never done a white on white piece....should do a snowy piece one day.
DeleteThis post made me see things from a stitchers point of view - I saw the ice stitching itself back together, re-freezing....
ReplyDeleteYes, like an open weave darning.
Deleteoh those ice crystals are beauties. i like the way you marked your painting with stitches. nice idea to give a vision and see if it will work.
ReplyDeleteAnd as you might guess sometimes it doesn't work!
Deleteoh, that ice is amazing, penny, beautiful. colder here, too. going from summer to winter on this post!
ReplyDeleteIce crystals are so beautiful. I remember as a kid on the farm that the windows in the barn would be covered with frost in the most beautiful and intricate patterns. I was always fascinated and now how I wish I'd been able to take pictures for artistic inspiration now.
