Last Week in Stitch

I didn't forget....just late

Monday was a day of snipping and stitching
Tuesday was our first wonderful visit to the beach
The tourists have started to gather there

I suppose they've come to see the lupins

My goodness me the coyotes were loud last night

14 of us SAQA girls gathered in Truro for a meeting

A weekend of gentle scratchings.

Donna's Tree Piece

So now I can show you the wedding gift piece.
I was thinking Georgian Bay rocks
and fall grasses

Button loops from my wedding dress
oh so many years ago form the horizon

and the tree is of course one of Donna's jewellery designs.
Do you see the tiny heart floating above?

If you wander around Collingwood
you will see one of the town banners
shows another piece of her jewellery.

From Mark's Studio

Think he's going through his orange phase!

Currently hanging at Brights Gallery
in Blue Mountain Village

If you live nearby they are having a reception for Mark
on July 6th from 4 to 7 p.m.
Go and tell him you know his mother!

Work in progress

Don't you love how he has placed that background barn going off the picture

My favourites are always the Georgian Bay watery ones

Cool rocks at sunset

Leaning against the wall

Piled up against a wall!

The Beach

Breathe

Dance with swirling mists

Run
The tides here are so big
all this sand will be covered at high tide

Family to some
pack to others

Some things make the beach their home

But we have to go now

Just a Few Memories

All set up for a wedding ceremony

A very old barn at the foot of their garden
provided one witness a perfect view.

 Where we gathered to celebrate

When the sun went down candles glowed
from lace covered jars

The bride painted clothes-pins as delicious cake toppers

Midnight escaped the noisy house to watch the world go by

So many young artists at this wedding
no surprise I suppose that as we relaxed the next day
someone couldn't resist sketching.

A Special Trip Scratched

Fourteen days scratched

Merlin youngsters and their parents swoop through the garden

and we pack for a wedding trip.

Two surprised rusty pups delivered to doggy hotel.

Flying to Toronto and driving to Collingwood.
On the wedding eve I'm thinking that 'til now there has been me and my four guys.

A special day of ceremony and celebration
A day for vows and romance and tears and joy.
On Sunday and Monday
rings were on my mind and the joining of two families.

Then it came time to leave the Blue Mountain ski hills
to visit a special place of memory
and reconnect with friends.

Gee whiz we nearly missed our plane!

Picked up two happy RP's

Days of rest
A day for Dads
A day for Golf.

A Week With Dorothy Caldwell

We worked with human marks
and
made books with our marked papers

Such a great week

I've come home with so many ideas

and affirmations that I am on the right track

A workshop with Dorothy is a gift to be treasured.
You can see her work at The Canadian Collection.
