Went through my fabric stash
Found some peaches and bright yellows
that have been sitting there for years.
So out came the dyes
and some over-dyeing was done.
To my surprise a lot of red occurred
Still not really colours I was looking for!
But I love accidents
and will give them a chance
to tell me if they have a story to develop
This would be my favourite
think it started off as my mop-up cloth.
Meanwhile the giant bundles are still stewing
in a brew of
Queen Anne's lace
ferns
golden rod
and garden waste.
The bundles are always at their most beautiful
just before you unwrap them.
Oh such fun!
All three are beautiful! I'd love to see what you do with them!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Holly...they're streaky just like your lovely birch piece.
ReplyDeleteOh , sky cathedrals i see!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, cathedral windows popped into my head too.
DeleteOoooooh! My colours!!!
ReplyDelete...just had a load to match out of my dye bags....
...all ready to use in Birmingham and France. :-)
So you dye in bags too!
DeleteI love those bottom two. They're gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteVery dramatic aren't they!
DeleteWow.......yummy shades!
ReplyDeleteBold and dramatic aren't they especially after natural dyeing for the past year.
Deleteisn't over dyeing amazing...
ReplyDeleteAlways an adventure for me since I'm not very scientific of precise!
DeleteNever knowing exactly what you'll get -- just like the rest of life! Beauty develops along with the surprise.
ReplyDeleteThink I do it just for the surprises!
DeleteIt does look like fun - I love the stripy effect!
ReplyDeleteMe too....I like the stripes.
Delete...bunch of bundle madnesses happening around our continent at the moment. Oh, ain't that GRAND?! That mop cloth sure has a lot to say ;>]]
ReplyDeleteThose usually end up as my favourites simply because they become a bit muddier!
DeleteI love all the colours - especially the top & bottom samples. Lots of inspiration methinks.
ReplyDeleteLots of inspiration...problem is where to begin!
DeleteI think mop-up cloths are probably my favourites; you couldn't make them if you tried. These cloths are marvellous, Penny.
