....but 4 herons have arrived at the pond.
Can you spy the fourth?!
He wandered up the stream into the woods.
They seem to like the spot where the stream
enters the pond.
Only one caught a fish as far as we could see.
They must be wishing they stayed in warmer climes a bit longer.
It is so very cold here still.
One morning the Rusty Pups and I stepped outside
to photograph. I was barefoot and really regretted that decision!
Brrrrr!
Stitching on six of the Stone Pathways is done.
Six more to go.
Stitching dots around dotty rocks!
My little backstitched dots remind me of a dress I had
as a toddler many, many moons ago.
It was made of that cotton lawn Swiss dot fabric
covered in little raised dots.
Perhaps that dress is the reason I grew into a tactile person!
Don't you have to touch everything?
On-line shopping is difficult for people like me!
Have a tactile day!
i love your greeting--i will have a tactile day, with your blessings. congrats on the 6 completed!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of the rolled pathways in your basket.
ReplyDeleteThe herons are amazing! I was going to say perhaps parents and children, but then you said it is still very cold there.
It's fine for the Rusty Pups and the herons, with their built in fur coats and feather quilts, isn't it!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, if you care about colour and texture, shopping online is very trying!
Yes, I remember dotted Swiss fabric. I wore dresses out of it. Since I have sons only, I didn’t get to use it for them. Everything is looking good on your sewing. Great to see a post from you. I no longer have a blog. I only post on Instagram and Facebook.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to see the Heron's. I have never seen that many at one time. Every now and then I will see one but never that many. I live a couple of miles from Lake Erie so we do get a lot of birds heading north and south.
ReplyDeleteThere is a bird sanctuary down the street from my home.
How aree you going to hang the rocks?lol
Oh the sense of touch - I don't know what I'd do without it. I have to touch things, which is why computer monitors are so frustrating!! Having four herons in a small area has to be rare. I've only ever seen one at a time. And I had a blouse in dotted Swiss fabric back in the day and I strongly suspect there might still be a teeny little piece of it lurking in my stash somewhere. Unless it's disintegrated with age!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your photos. Herons are some of my favorite birds,
ReplyDeletetheir mannerisms and hunting style are fun to watch.
You're surrounded with natural beauty.
And great stitching.
