At Work on the Dyke

Early mist still rising
Down on the dike

The RP's and I weren't the only ones up and about

Some were already working on the edge.

A spider with a sense of design...
that centre...
some stitching to be done  me thinks.

Not such beautiful web work
but home to thousands!

Some webs are just strands of thread
wandering here and there between swaying grasses.

  3. Lovely, serene photos. Spider webs are always fascinating - wonder where the spider was, and why the web was incomplete? Sometimes I find them with a big hole in the center where a bird has swooped in and plucked it from the web. It always makes me a little sad.

  4. Lovely web postings. I also love webs found still covered in the dew from a damp night.

    1. Considering the morning fog was still hanging around I was surprised not to find droplets.

  5. Hi Penny, I have just had a knee replacement and am looking for something to do, I found your blog, and like you did a wonderful Dorothy Caldwel class a couple of years ago. I love your scratchings and would love to do somehingsimilar to keep me occupied but I have a query and I hope you will aswer it, do you start with a backing or is each piece a backing and a top layer which is then attached to the next piece?
Another Penny but this one in South Australia
    ps love the photos.

    1. Thank you for dropping by, Penny. I hope you received my email. The thin backing is what I start with...but not too long because it gets in the way if it's too long. Good luck with the knee recovery....it takes patience from what I hear.
