Another quiet week
though I did scratch one spindly northern spine
The fox must be wondering where the heck those Rusty Pups are
It's been so long since we walked in his territory
Our family of merlin expand their territory every day
though they come back here every night
and at night the porch light
attract a myriad of moths
Some gentle in colour
some just simple white
Some preferring the shiny painted surfaces
and this guy couldn't make up his mind.
I love the white ones. We used to get Luna Moths at our Georgia house and I loved them so much -- they were so magical and their light green color was gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteMe too...and their heads are all furry.
DeleteSpindly trees are good and the moths are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Vicky
DeleteLove the idea of the Undecided Moth - is he a relative of the Quantum Weather Butterfly?
ReplyDeleteHa!
DeleteA very nice reportage on moths. I love the one with orange head and turquoise 'shoulders': nature really knows hoe to mix colours!
ReplyDeleteJust like you and the beautiful colours you photograph and stitch.
Deletemoth love!
ReplyDeleteAha...a lover of nighttime critters.
DeleteI just found your site and wondered how wide your scratching are
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by, Tina. The scratching s are 6" deep and miles and miles long! This year I am making each scroll three months long so that they are more manageable but can still be joined together whenever I have a show about journaling in stitch.
DeleteI love the idea and have seen something similar at Pintangle and have always wanted to start something. I actually tried once-but it didn't speak to me then, but when I saw how interesting yours is, I am truly inspired.
DeleteLOL-I tried to type scratchings last night and my ipad would not let me spell that word!
One more question, do you normally use an embroidery hoop with your work?
DeleteI do use an embroidery hoop unless it is just a simple row of stitch. I have a lovely 5" hoop that my grandmother used to use.
