I hate to see trees come down - but often they do. We've had some bad winds through this area this winter and many trees have come down. At least once on the ground they often become homes for creepy crawley of the forest.
Those winds blew through Maine on their way to you. I have never heard wind howl that loudly! Our front door is on the South and the wind kept unlatching it and blowing it open. We don't have a deadbolt and the constant fierce rattling actually unlatched the door. We finally had to barricade it.
We had one of those winds come through a number of years ago and it did the same thing to a massive maple tree that was in our backyard. Amazing how wind can do such damage. Good thing everybody is safe!
