A muddle of a week
Old Man Winter loosened his hold for just one day
A handsome but, oh so stinky critter
thought he might move in under my studio
making me a very unhappy camper!
Of course Old Man Winter returned
and on Thursday at quilt Guild
we made prayer flags for one of us
Handy Hubby suggested I couldn't just do snow, snow and more snow!
So I made circles but couldn't resist filling them with snowflakes
As the snow still fell on Saturday
a Merlin swooped down and captured a starling.
When we first arrived here we would be shocked
and try to scare off the hawks or falcons
but now we know they too need to eat
and winter is very hard on them.
Studio got a cleaning
so scraps from the cutting room floor
found a home here.
All lovely! So nice to trace your week through your 'scratchings'. A beautiful tribute to your life and your world.
ReplyDeleteSeems like a very confined life this winter!
DeleteYour embroidery continues to knock me out -- it's just wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHey, Connie, thank you. I just love your Valentine books...lucky recipients!
DeleteThe prayer flags are particularly delightful. I hope you managed to oust Stinky?
ReplyDeleteThink stinky has left...hope he stays far, far away!
DeleteYes, the prayer flags are my favourite too.
Your scratchings are becoming more intriguing as time flies by.
ReplyDeleteAnd it does fly by doesn't it. My goodness Connie is now 88...do wish her belated birthday wishes from me.
DeleteThe prayer flags are my favourite. I do hope your unwelcome guest has moved on!
ReplyDeleteMe too and he's gone thank goodness.
