September...already

Funny how on September 1st there is a definite change in the air.

As the sun rose it kissed the tops of trees as it always does.
But today it seems to have lost some strength.

The tangled woods have become even more tangled this summer.
Some things have wrapped themselves around other things.

Their lives are all so intertwined.
They're all headed in the same direction...toward the sunlight
but each on takes it's own path.

  1. Beautiful! I love these colors and twining. Yes the change is obviously showing. I love that the sun kisses the trees.

  3. Beautiful. Your tangled woods, yet again, inspires a pretty piece.

September means the beginning of fall for me too, but we don't quite feel it in the day air yet, though the nights are cooler and my annual flower blooms are not quite as big. Time to put mums out I guess.

  7. Actually, I noticed the leaves turning red and yellow two weeks ago... and they are falling way early this year. The nights are quite cool. We've been about 10-12 degrees below normal all year long and didn't even see summer until August. But, fall is one of my favorite seasons so I'm not complaining. What are you making with all those spiral and twisty coils???

  9. Yes, no matter what the summer has been like, fall is always beautiful.

Haven't a clue what the heck I'm doing with the wrappings yet, Debi! Something from my works in progress pile.

  10. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I love the playful shapes, the 3-dimensionality, the unexpected color pairings.

Thanks, also for the link to my blog in your sidebar -- much appreciated! :)

(PS - I have no idea why my name is showing up with an "l" at the end... Bizarre... It should, of course, just say "Melissa" 8-\)

  12. Penny- I too was wondering what you were working on. I think it's great that you don't know...yet!!!
I've been working on a 'power stick' today, which is fun because I have no plan...I just go along - discovering :)
We're cooler, mostly at night...but that won't stick! We're expecting high temps at the end of the week/weekend! Such odd weather these days.
