  1. cool pic
what portions of each do you use. I have never used the corn meal but sounds like a good choice. I'm always up for an idea to keep the chickadees happy.

  2. 1 cup peanut butter
    1 cup shortening
    4 cups cornmeal
    1 cup flour
Give 3 good size balls which I put in onion bags and hang out. I freeze them if I don't need them right away.
Woodpeckers, nut hatches, blue jays also like it.

  4. Funny, I was just trying to remember how I used to make those way back when. I thought I would treat my bird friends to something besides sunflower seeds and suet. Thank you so much for posting the recipe!

  5. Peanut butter and cornmeal are very much part of my diet since I became gluten and lactose intolerant: am I transoforming into a bird?
Lovely photo, as usual you could get the essence of the scene.

  6. Havn't seen a nuthatch since I migrated 39+yrs ago. We had a feeder in the dinning room window.
    Thank you

  8. Yes, that's an adorable chickadee.

By the way never give birds just peanut butter, always mix it with shortening. Peanut Butter by itself chokes them.
