Stitch Scratchings

Men would choose to use this background cloth as a car polishing rag.
That's where I found it, in the automotive section of a hardware store....

But I chose to dye it and cover it with women...

Of all shapes and sizes........

Don't know why my women seem to be grey haired or red heads so far.

  1. What a joyful piece!
And i agree about those "rags"---they take natural and synthetic dyes beautifully---i have quite a stash of them and use them regularly :)
Your stitching complements the soft weave of these as well--and nothing beats that colour combo

  3. Maybe that's the colour yarn that just jumps into your hand... Very nice no matter what hair colour they have. Seems like a fun project.

  10. Love it. I cover my grey hair with henna (red) so I feel a kind of affinity with these wild women. I like the subversive feel of this cloth too.
