Rusty Cloth and a Rusty Pup

On golden pond ....don't you agree! It was loosely wrapped around that rod.

Rusted from that bit of flotsam that has a lip around it's edge. The first day nothing happened; so once again I painted the bundle with my vinegar to get better contact and now I have a very large dot or perhaps solar flares!

Didn't have to rust this pup...she came like that!

  1. I love "On golden pond" and happy that the pup was kind enough to coordinate with all that rust. The circle one looks great as well, but how does it feel? Will it be hard to stitch through?

  2. I love the rust, but have to admit I'm totally in love with the puppy! We lost both our dogs this year and I miss them so much.

  3. ok, good start, now how about re-rolling that first one around the rod but in a different direction. the circle rust looks most inspiring, how long did you have it wrapped for?
lovely mut, very tolerant of all the rusting...k.

  4. Penny, It is so great to see you in blog land.
I love all your experiments with rust. You have had very good results and they are inspiring. I love rust too, but have not done any dyeing with it yet - Another thing to try!!!

  5. Hello Penny...nice cloth! (and pup) I'm curious...do you have to do anything to the cloth to prepare it for the rusting? I just dug up an old rusty. pipe from my garden and realize it could be useful
