Shiny Things That Gather in my Studio

Shiny gifts from the sea
why the holes?
I imagine they filtered the sea through those holes
for tiny nutrients.
Amazing interior design.

I'm a lover of boxes
A pair on tiny shiny boxes

sit atop my encaustic spiral.
I tried it one day
and ended up with four finished pieces.
Absolutely amazing for a stitcher who spends months on one piece.
Unfortunately the fumes were not Penny friendly!

Things That Gather in my Studio

I love my studio
and within that studio I keep things that inspire me
woody gifts from the sea
in little piles on windowsills

sticking out of bowls alongside feathers

or standing tall in flowerpots

Some show evidence of high density critter living
or road maps well travelled

Funny how they avoided the rusty bit too.

Tiptoe Stitching

Picked up my rusty sun yesterday

tiptoed around rusty bits

and through tiny gaps

Easter?

I thought Spring had sprung!
It's still snowing.

April started with pink bits for blossom and Spring
Then Handsome Harry's arrival was celebrated
and yesterday I celebrated Penny by scratching with her thread
but today the poor eggs of Spring are covered in snow.

Looking at Silhouettes

Watching the ground below with a hunter's eye.

Watching for rusty pups with a handsome eye
or
just enjoying the setting sun

 Definitely watching for rusty pups

Looking south yearning for all that warm weather he left behind
It's freezing here again.
Eastery wishes and springtime joy to you all

Handsome Harry is Back in Town

He arrived after supper
strolled across the garden
making sure we knew he was back
then dropped into the pond

and wandered up the stream
fishing for a quick snack before bedding down for the night.
I think he's grown.

Treasures from a Beautiful Artist and Mother Nature as Well

 Created by Penny at Artjourney

Yesterday was like Christmas in April
when this treasure arrived from Penny.
I was the oh so lucky winner of her celebration of Spring give away.

 Created by Penny at Artjourney

A needle punched pouch filled to the brim with lavender
gorgeous variegated threads and ribbons
What a treat
No longer can I say I never win anything!
I'm thrilled to bits
Thank you Penny

It was the start of lobster season
we watched as boats returned one by one
after setting their traps

Their wake stretched back into the Bay of Fundy

and we were given another treasure
a perfect sunset.
