Working with Rusty Pups Underfoot

We have started walks

And they can join me in the studio for short periods now
so I have been able to play on the design wall.

This is often how a piece starts
Pinning bits and pieces up on the wall.
When I visited Judy on her beautiful island
we decided my mottled grey fabric
really needed the company of Judy's dyed grey and brown velvets.
Thank you Judy
Sending you grateful hugs over the airways.

Now that I am home
I think I also have to include that strip of black discharge linen.

Jut playing around adding and subtracting.
I am where I love to be
It is calming to be in the studio
even with pups fighting over a scrap of cotton
at my feet.

We have started walks up the mountain.
They have learned the beep of the tailgate opening
means a ride to fun times!
They are not big enough to jump in yet
but they try and help!

We also took them to meet beautiful Willa next door.

Oh, boy did they love her
Willa was so patient
Two excited puppies at once can be a bit much!

  1. They're completely enchanting! I hope they become good studio companions and muses - at the very least, always ready for a walk when you need a change of scene!

  2. Oh my, I can relate! They both grow more beautiful!
I love how they 'help' being put in the truck. I know
that little leap feeling in Opie's body while I lift
him up and he anticipates going to a fun place.

  3. Your piece reflects the colors of the first picture really well. Just need a spot of green! The puppies are so cute!

  4. Yay - my heart always loves when I see pictures of the Rusty Pups and then....oh then.....to see my other favourite breed too! My day is made. And I must say that I'm liking the addition of that velvet to your design board too - and even better that its the same colour as the RP's!

  5. oh those pups are growing aren't they, what a pleasure for you, and an eater of time I should think.

She Loved the Woods is just beautiful, I would love to be across the sea and able to see it for real. As ever, your stitching is so right

  7. those pups just melt your heart ~ my hubby is in hospital and a lovely nurse allowed me to take in our future DIL's tiny chihuahua wrapped in a blanket into his room to brighten his day. All dogs are good for our soul.
