First of all...
apologies for the quality of these pics...
they were done in a rush under difficult lighting.
On Monday I was paging through a favourite book
by Marija Gimbutas.
Because Spring is on it's way
(hopefully sooner rather than later)
I thought a "ship of renewal" as found in Scandinavian rock art
might encourage Spring on her slow journey to this part of the world.
It rained most of the day
puddles were gathering in the garden
So I felt like making a puddle with bling!
Not a very beautiful puddle though.
(The first time I've scratched with beads''
and probably the last!)
For Thursday, I just went with the flow.
On Friday we made tracks up the valley as the snow fell
all for a mammogram!
Not my favourite way of spending a day.
just doodling
Friends had a wine tasting party with a difference...
they were all our home made wines.
And guess who won for the best red wine...
my Handy Hubby!
I rather like your puddle - very successful! We've been told to expect more wintry weather, so the Ship of Renewal needs to crowd on more sail!
ReplyDeleteHa! Spring has once again retreated here too.
DeleteYes! That book is never far away from my hand either.....along with her previous one...Goddesses and Gods of Old Europe.
ReplyDeleteLovely scratchings...

Oh, my goodness Chris. I don't know that book...another one to put on my wish list!
Deletei am with rachel, like the puddle very much. congrats on the wine win, handy hubby!
ReplyDeleteThose who know him are never going to hear the end of it!
DeleteI love the puddle -- a bit of a change from the regular scratchings but it does indeed look like a puddle.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to change things up every now and then!
Deletei like your constancy in this stitching.
ReplyDeleteIt's very strange because I've never been able to write a journal consistently!
Deleteio amo i tuoi lavori
ReplyDeleteGrazie Paola! Io amo tuoi picola casa. Hope that makes sense.
DeleteI like all of them, really like the idea of stitching your week.
ReplyDeleteComes more naturally than writing a journal! Thanks for dropping by, Helen.
DeletePenny, I have loved following your blog & have been so inspired by your scratching. Have you an email address where I could make contact apart from this more public opportunity, please? I would like to share how your scratching has helped me recently. Cheers!
