A small group of eight artists
(mostly painters but also a writer, a photographer
and a couple of us fibre folk)
Will be having a show in July which we have decided to call
Quotes, Quirks and Quiddity.
Each of us has been given a piece of sheer fabric about 7ft long
on which we have to put our body!
So Handy Hubby and I tried to photograph my body
which was soon obliterated by two Rusty Pups.
After banishing RP's from the room
we finally got a snapshot
which I then played around with on my hand dandy ipad.
We printed it HUGE
and now I have drawn myself onto my fabric.
My intent is to simply stitch it in black thread to make it look like a sketch
but
my glasses will be stitched red.
That is my plan
but I've already had two false starts!
Things might change again.
loving the Rusty Pups.
ReplyDeleteI am going to be printing some photos on fabric... Question.. how did you print it huge? Did you take it someplace and they printed it on your fabric, or do you have a special printer for doing 'huge'?
ReplyDeleteThanks...

What a great idea! I'll be looking forward to seeing this develop. I'm wondering also how big it is. I have printed on fabric but always used 8-1/2x11 paper. It would be so much fun to make something larger!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great project and I love the pose, your stitch colour and the red glasses !!!
ReplyDeleteEven if they get in the way, isn't it wonderful to have two affectionate Rusty Pups taking an interest!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great...can't wait to see it evolve!
ReplyDeleteOne's furry companions tend not to respect the art process too much! Mine has jumped up on wet watercolors. Once a wet oil palette. He very much regretted that as he was whisked swiftly to the kitchen sink, paws immersed in soapy water and scrubbed. Now THAT was an event we both decided we NEVER wanted to repeat!
ReplyDeleteHappy making.
Fascinating. Should be a really interesting exhibition. Good to see that the Rusty Pups are completely oblivious of the creative process
ReplyDeleteI'm catching up... love this and I'm betting you are wearing hand knit socks. Either that or socks with lots of texture. :)
