You might remember my sketchbook work on tree bark
Finally working on a small piece
testing out ideas
Natural dyed silk Dupione beneath a layer of silk chiffon.
I'm thinking more of graffiti or marks
rather than trying to replicate bark.
Next time I think I'll use fewer thread colours
more subtle.
Loving the texture of this, Penny. Have you added any other base fabrics or yarns other than just the two layers of cloth?
ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to watch the development of these experiments...
ReplyDeleteFascinating and fabulous!!!
ReplyDeletei think this looks inviting, i'd walk through it.
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely! More subtle will be wonderful, too!
ReplyDeleteIt's exciting to see this develop!
ReplyDeletedelicious. intriguing.
ReplyDeletegreat textures, and I don't mind the variety of thread tones... but I know what you mean about wanting to 'go more subtle'
ReplyDeleteI really like the way the thread pulls the fabric into three dimensions. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteohhh this is great - I like the texture and rhythm of it more than the color - but than again a bit of accent color is really pleasing! I would like to invite you to link up on my blog's Off the Wall Friday where fiber artist share their creative endeavors - its open through Sunday night. We find it super motivating and inspiring!
