Windswept and Snowbound Scratchings

Boy oh boy, what a windy snowy week it's been.
Lots of time indoors to start a new scratched scroll.

Year of the water snake

The wind howled through the trees and around the house.
The old dead tree that the heron used sit atop has broken in two.

We trudged up the mountain on virgin snow.
Boy is that hard work!

The pheasant comes for breakfast every day

It is so strange coming out of our small grocery store
and seeing the biggest eagle
perched on the skinniest branches atop a tree.

Snow, snow and more snow!
Might use up all my white thread soon.

  3. Did you hike the hill sans snow shoes? I don't go into the forest in winter without mine!! Hapy New year and new scratchings! Is the eagle a regular on that tree outside your grocery store?

    1. No snow shoes! I was so surprised that no one had been before me and prepared a path!
Happily we seem to be seeing more and more eagles.

Trudging through snow sounds like very hard work; up a mountain too. Crikey!!
