Frosted Woodland and a Woodland Bear

Brrrr!
First frost of the season this morning

Little rose leaves edged in cold.

Dark brown branches against orangey red leaves.
Love it.

It being the season of beautiful woodlands
I was reminded of this little bear
made at least 20 years ago
He is called Woodland Bear.

I was into silk ribbon back then

Handy Hubby made his joints.

Being a Woodland Bear he enjoys reposing in fallen leaves!
If he were being stitched today
he would look very different.

  1. We have been overcast and rainy with a sunny day stuck here and there. Yesterday I admired the beauty of the multi colored trees on the way to work. On the way home I was wondering about how those same trees were bare with those colorful leaves swirling on the ground. What a difference 9 hours can make!

  4. Ahhh...that is the beauty of time. Things can look 'very different' and both ways are beautiful, charming, useful, fulfilling and everything else. The 'thens' and the 'nows' and everything in between...just ARE. So good :)
    Wonderful Woodland Bear!

  7. Love your bear and it looks so close to nature. Your pictures are beautiful and I love taking the same and hopefully put them into a wallhanging.

  8. Perhaps I've seen this bear in person? Did you teach a class on him? Not that I took your class, but I have a partially finished CQ bear tucked away in a bag somewhere (from someone else's class). Very different flavour and I promise that I will finish her one day. Perhaps they could meet?

    1. Oh, yes, you would have met him many years ago! Perhaps they could indeed meet!

  9. Yesterday we were walking around with no jackets and it was lovely and warm. Now the rain is setting in for a few days, so I suppose that will mean the frost is on the way too. Boo!! I have a very feminine crazy quilted bear that would love to meet your handsome fellow!
