Red was the colour
of the morning sun
as we walked along the dike
Red was the colour
(okay reddish)
of pealing paint on a dike post
Leaves turned red overnight
Berries shone red
in that morning sun
all ready for any hungry critters
or perhaps Rusty pups to pick
Then later on back at the ranch
I returned to grey
Goosey, goosey gander
Reflecting red in his eye!
I love the energy and power of red. No other color stands out and makes a statement as red does in a neutral background.
ReplyDeleteHave a perfectly wonderful weekend.
xx, Carol
Yes, Carol, a bold and powerful colour.
DeleteHa! Great minds think alike, Penny. I am currently working in red too, not posted yet but soon to appear as a little turned edge applique tutorial. LOVE your photos!
ReplyDeleteI'll look out for your red piece.
DeleteLove the 'goosey gander'! I'm not drawn to red but at this time of the year with green EVERYWHERE a hint of red popping up in the Cardinal flowers is very welcome.
ReplyDeleteYes, Penny, just a little dot of red can be enough.
DeleteDon't tell me Autumn's coming already! Love those various red, though, even if they do make me feel as though the year is speeding up!
ReplyDeleteThose leaves turning red already made me feel the same way!
DeleteJust lovely! What kind of berries are those??? Love your Canadian geese! Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteDeb...Those berries are probably alder berries or something similar that grows in the wild around here.
DeleteOH that sun!!! Love the geese. The scratchings get more and more interesting and charming each day!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that sun amazing! Glad you're enjoying the scratchings, Nancy.
Deletered hot chilly peppers
ReplyDelete(silly mind popup)
the feeling of end summer strikes me in the face...here in the netherlands...wetwetwet
I should have photographed some chilly peppers!
DeleteWe could do with some of that rain here....dry, dry, dry. Our pond is the lowest it's ever been.
