A day trip up the valley.
An artist date with Diane and Sharon
buying delicious threads
sharing the treat of a lunch out
and show and tell of our latest work.
What more could one ask for on a day that only occurs
every four years.

On the drive up we passed snow covered fields of golden stubble.
No time to stop and photograph.

I've been worried about you and missed your wisdom.
Deletethe beautiful truth in not forgetting.
ReplyDeleteI forget so easily nowadays.
DeleteLovely patterns to mark the occasion!
ReplyDeleteThere is something so fascinating about a single repetitive mark.
Deletenice, nice
ReplyDeleteMark and repetition....a couple of my favourite things.
DeleteThe stitching (top of post) is so intriguing. I love the 'shadows' on the background. Lovely to look at. (and your outing to honor leap day sounds just the thing!) -sus
ReplyDeleteYes that strip of fabric was my last precious piece of that one so for March I've got to start with something fresh.
DeleteIt's a different experience, sketching or drawing from memory, isn't it.. Worth doing again, too
ReplyDeleteYes, should do it more often. Being once removed it makes it more your own.
DeleteIt sounds like such a wonderful trip. How can you bear for it to happen only once every 4 years? Every year, for one week, I and 2 of my textile artist friends go away for an artist retreat. It is so amazing to have that time together dedicated to our art. Such precious times@
ReplyDeleteOh, no, no, no, I couldn't survive with only once every four years! It just happened to fall the 29th! I quite agree artist retreats are precious and to be taken often.
