Staying Connected Across The Miles

Living many miles away from my grand babies is hard for me.
I seek different ways of staying in touch
and one of them is
to draw little scenes that I think will tickle a
three year old's fancy
and drop them in the mail.

This week I tried to draw one of her many
book characters
the Gruffalo!

and two of his woodland friends.

She likes pictures of things she does.

Then, when she gets them, she colours them in.
This one obviously arrived just in time
for a Maple Leafs game.
Big fans in that family!

A collaboration between generations!

  1. What an excellent idea! Ours is almost old enough for this.

  2. oh Penny, how adorable and wise. What a beautiful girl she is. And what a good granny you are xo

  3. Love it--especially the collaboration! My grands are older, but I send letters and postcards to them all the time.

  4. What a precious little girl! Your idea is brilliant! I will have to keep it in mind.

  5. What a great thing! I can still remember how excited I would get when something would come for me in the mail (well I still do, but that's another story). I've sent little colouring books in the mail to our 3 year old 'grand' and will start sending things out to our littler one when he's a bit older.

  6. Such a gift, making the effort to make the connection. Well done :)

  7. What a lovely collaboration, too!

  8. Such a precious child. Love the collaboration idea, too.

  9. such a sweet idea. I do not get to see my grand children very often, it's horrible.

  10. She's a sweetheart! That's a fun idea, wonderful.

  11. Hi Penny, this is great! I feel your pain, as you know. TN is a long way for us too! What a great idea😊 Ashley is getting so big, so cute and a VERY good colourer!

Thank you for taking the time to comment, your thoughts are most welcome.
