Busy, Busy Week

A week full of activity.

Monday we made tracks up the valley
to the doctor's.
Tuesday found us at Grant and Joan's for a BBQ
to meet his children and grandchildren
but also to celebrate his 75th.

Chris and Sarah arrived for three days of painting plein air.
slight problem...it rained for two of those days!
So my stitching studio became and hive of painting activity.
The girls brought food and made sangria.
Then the sun came out for our third day together.
A perfect day of painting over the mountain
in Delaps Cove.
Oh, yes, and we stopped traffic on the road to
make sure a huge snapping turtle crossed
in front of us safely.

Saturday being a special day for me I tried to remember my
shorthand and stitched a secret message for me.

Have a nice week.

  1. Sounds like you had a lovely, lovely week!! Thank heavens the sun came out at least one day - but I'm sure your stitching studio was also lots of fun - a hive of activity!!

  3. Hi Penny! I was reading your blog and find your work quite beautiful! I stumbled upon it because of a recent discovery.. First and foremost I was wondering if you have ever lived in Beaconsfield, Montreal?

    2. I have reason to believe that I currently live in your previous home in Beaconsfield. My family and I have lived there for the past 19 years and recently we have been doing renovations in one of the upstairs bedrooms. As we were tearing down a portion of the wall, we came across a collection of objects much like a time capsule hidden in that wall. I started with a name written on a piece of paper in children's handwriting and ended up finding your blog. I would like to send you some photos of what i found or better yet mail them to you if you would like. It would be a great way to end this little detective adventure that I have been on! :)

    3. So you must live on Bishop? I would love to have those objects! What a magnificent piece of detective work! I am trying to work out which of my boys would have thought of doing a time capsule. We were all so young then. Do you have an email address?
